AmeriQuest
Acquires FleetXchange.com Adding Content and Community
to the Transportation Network
AmeriQuest now
represents more than 230,000 trucks, tractors and trailers
The combination creates the premier sites for the transportation
industry
Cherry Hill, NJ February 13, 2001:
AmeriQuest, a leading provider of transportation and logistics services for the fleet management
industry, has purchased FleetXchange.com, an Internet B2B operator of a commercial transportation
knowledge exchange, from Neodesic, Inc., Evanston, IL. The transaction closed end of day, Thursday,
February 8, 2001, and has been treated as an exchange of equity between AmeriQuest and Neodesic.
The value of the transaction was not released.
Combined with the recent announcement that Transervice Lease Corp./Transervice Logistics Inc. has
joined as a full participant, the acquisition of FleetXchange.com increases the number of transport
units in the AmeriQuest network to more than 230,000, or nearly five percent of the country’s
surface commercial fleet.
"This acquisition will deliver considerable value to our users by supplying them with the latest
industry content and the quickest response tools for customer relationship management information,"
said Doug Clark, President and CEO of AmeriQuest.
FleetXchange.com aggregates the best fleet-related knowledge and expertise, and makes this
information easily available on the Web to fleet owners, managers and maintenance supervisors.
"AmeriQuest is a strong supporter of independent fleets, and the acquisition of FleetXChange.com
clearly will help companies build their businesses in an ever competitive environment by combining
the great information and support mechanisms in FleetXchange.com with the procurement elements of
AmeriQuest," said Joe Ciolino, Executive Vice President, Corporate Development of AmeriQuest.
"We are very pleased that FleetXchange.com is moving to a great company like AmeriQuest, and are
confident our members will continue to lower their total cost of ownership and improve their
fleet purchasing and maintenance effectiveness as a result," said Gerard Beenen, former Vice
President, Business Development of Neodesic.
Ciolino added that Beenen and other FleetXchange professionals have joined AmeriQuest.
The addition of FleetXchange.com to AmeriQuest will also work to build volume in the network by
drawing more commercial transportation professionals to the sites. The content and knowledge
FleetXchange.com develops will continue to be available to the entire industry, and the e-commerce
element, a closed B2B community driven by AmeriQuest's purchasing engine, will be available to
those users meeting certain volume and credit requirements.
